	Pound for pound, the Kagero class destroyer was one of the best in the world at the outset of the war. She was an exceptionally well balanced armament that made her very capable in the roles of surface combatant, AAW or ASW. Her twin quadruple torpedo mounts made her very dangerous in the early war battles fought in and around the Solomon islands.
